WHAT IS WHITETAIL RANCH CENTER'S PURPOSE?
The purpose of the Whitetail Ranch Center is for veterans to successfully reintegrate into civilian life.
WHO DOES WHITETAIL RANCH CENTER SERVE?
Whitetail Ranch Center serves veterans and military service members from all eras. Veterans must have a diagnosis of PTSD with other co-occurring challenges. The ranch will be wheelchair accessible. We serve veterans who have a desire to be part of a team and willing to put in long days on the ranch. Applicants must be substance-dependent free due to the working environment of the ranch. Applicants must be willing to enroll in a vocational or educational program of their choosing.
HOW DOES WHITETAIL RANCH CENTER SUPPORT SOCIAL INTEGRATION?
The wrap around design of the Whitetail Ranch Center enables all ranch activities to support the mental and physical health of its veterans. The community environment embraces teamwork and accountability of residents while providing a safe and structured setting for veterans to begin supported reintegration to civilian life.
WHAT ARE THE LIVING ARRANGEMENTS AT WHITETAIL RANCH CENTER?
Whitetail Ranch Center will provide individual living accommodations for each veteran. Each veteran will have a private residence of approximately 500 square feet. The residence will include a bedroom, bath, kitchenette, living space, and study area. Residences will be grouped in pods of four with a shared area that includes a bar-be-que and activities such as horseshoes and shuffleboard. Reasonable accommodations as defined under ADA will be provided to residents who have physical injuries.
HOW LONG CAN VETERANS LIVE AT WHITETAIL RANCH CENTER?
It is anticipated veterans will live on the ranch for 6 months to 2 years.
DOES WHITETAIL RANCH CENTER SERVE BOTH MALE AND FEMALE VETERANS?
Yes. Whitetail Ranch Center's design provides private residences for each veteran thus allowing for both males and females to be active participants at the ranch. However, due to initial living residences, we will only be able to accommodate male applicants in the first two years of opening.
CAN FAMILIES LIVE AT WHITETAIL RANCH CENTER?
At this time, Whitetail Ranch Center cannot accommodate families, though we will include them as necessary to be a part of their veteran's journey to reintegrate back into civilian life. It is hoped that in the future, families can be accommodated as residents.
DOES WHITETAIL RANCH CENTER ONLY SERVE MONTANA RESIDENTS?
No. It is anticipated most residents will be from Montana, however, Whitetail Ranch Center is eager to serve veterans from across the country.
WHAT IS THE PHYSICAL DESIGN OF WHITETAIL RANCH CENTER?
Whitetail Ranch Center will be comprised of an administration building, horse arena, barn, great hall/commons, high tunnels, pastures, stables, and residential housing. Several outbuildings as typically needed for a ranch will also be constructed.
WHEN WILL WHITETAIL RANCH CENTER ACCEPT APPLICATION OR START HIRING STAFF?

HOW WILL WHITETAIL RANCH CENTER MAINTAIN ITS FUNDING?
Whitetail Ranch Center is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization. Like most nonprofits, Whitetail Ranch Center will seek funding through foundations, grants, and donations. However, the unique design will allow Whitetail to be up to 65% self-sustaining through products raised and grown at Whitetail and turned into added value products.
